How to crochet little giraffe?
Materials:
Acrylic Yarn:
Dark Brown (Color 1 for white giraffe)
White (Color 2 for white giraffe)
Brown (Color 1 for yellow giraffe)
Yellow (Color 2 for yellow giraffe)
Lace Yarn:
Black (for nose)
Other accessories:
Safety eyes (6mm)
Crochet Hook:
I used 4/0 here but any hook that fit your yarn would do
Yarn Needle:
for sewing the parts together
Abbreviations (US terms):
- sl st - slip stitch
- ch(s) - chain(s)
- sc - single crochet
- st - stitch
- sc inc - 2 single crochet in 1 stitch
- sc dec - 1 single crochet in 2 stitch
Little giraffe crochet pattern instructions
Follow the yarn color marked in the pattern to crochet yellow and white little giraffe. Or you can pick your own yarn color to make a unique one yourself.
Little Giraffe Leg Crochet Pattern
Round 1:
In color 1, make a Magic Circle with 4sc. Close the circle with sl st. (4st)
In the following rows, start with a sl st and close the round with sl st.
Round 2:
1sc inc. Repeat 3 times. (8st)
Round 3-4:
1 sc in each st.. (8st)
Change to Color 2 when finish off Round 4.
Round 5-8:
In color 2, 1sc in each st.. (8st)
Stuff and fasten off. Leaving a long tail for sewing onto the body.
Make 4 in total.
Little Giraffe Body to Head Crochet Pattern
Round 1:
In color 2, make a Magic Circle with 6sc. Close the circle with sl st. (6st)
In the following rows, start with a sl st and close the round with sl st.
Round 2:
1sc inc. Repeat 5 times. (12st)
Round 3:
1sc, 1 sc inc. Repeat 5 times. (18st)
Round 4:

The body part is formed. Stuff until the body is firm.
Then, continue to crochet for the head.

Round 4:

Little Giraffe Tail Crochet Pattern
In color 2, begin with ch12.
From the 2nd chain from the hook, make 1 sc in each ch.
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing onto the body.
Add the hair at the tip of the tail following the same instruction of Hair for Little White Giraffe below.
Little Giraffe Body Details
Patches for Little Yellow Giraffe
For yellow giraffe, make around 8 little circle pieces as patches:
Round 1:
In color 1, make a Magic Circle with 4sc. Close the circle with sl st. (4st)
In the following rows, start with a sl st and close the round with sl st.
Round 2:
1sc inc in each st. (8st)
Fasten off. Leave a long tail for sewing onto the body.
Hair for Little White Giraffe
For white giraffe, attach hair onto the back of the neck as shown in the photo.
I attach the yarn by make a small knot on each stitch along the neck. Then, cut it short and use a needle to turn the cord into fibres.
Little Giraffe Face Details:
Eyes:
Add some glue on the tip of the safety eyes, and insert right above the mouth.
Nose:
In black, embroidery two crosses as shown in the photos.
