Materials:
Yarn:
Deep Pink (for dishcloth body)
Hot Pink (for ears)
Pink (for piglet face)
Black (for face embroidery)
Crochet Hook:
I used 7/0 here but any hook that fit your yarn would do
Yarn Needle:
for sewing the parts together
Abbreviations (US terms):
- sl st - slip stitch
- ch(s) - chain(s)
- sc - single crochet
- hdc - half double crochet
- st - stitch
- sc inc - 2 single crochet in 1 stitch
Pattern Instructions
Piglet Face:
Note* It is crochet in Spiral. Do not sl st to join.
Round 1:
Start with chain 3, sc in the first and second chain, 2sc in the third chain. Repeat on the other side of the chain. Do not join. (6st)
Round 2:
Chain 1, sc inc in the first st, 1 sc, sc inc in the next 4 st, 2 sc, sc inc in the next three st. Do not join. (20st)
Round 3:
Chain 1, sc inc the first st, sc inc in the next st. Repeat once. Then 1 hdc inc, 1 hdc, 1 hdc inc, 1 hdc in the next two st, 1 hdc inc. After that sc in the next seven st Do not join. (22st)
Round 4:
Chain 1, sc in the first five st, then 4 hdc inc, 4 hdc, 4 hdc inc again. After that, sc in the next ten st. Fasten Off. (35st)
Piglet Ear (x2) :
Round 1:
Start with chain 4, sc in the first three chain, 3sc in the fourth chain to make it a loop, sc in the next three chain . Then sl st to the first sc to join. (9st)
Round 2:
Chain 2, hdc in the first 4 st, sc in the next. Then chain3 and sc in the same st. hdc in the remaining 4 st, sl st to the next chain and then fasten off. Do not join to the first st.
Sewing Tips:
Sew the two ears to the face with about 3st gap.
Dishcloth:
Round 1:
Start with Magic Ring, chain 1 and 6sc into a ring, sl st to the first sc to join. Pull tight to close the Magic Ring. (6st)
Round 2:
Chain 1, sc inc in each st, sl st to the first sc to join. (12st)
Round 3:
Chain 1, sc in the first st, then sc inc in the second st. Repeat it 5 times then sl st to the first sc to join. (18st)
Round 4:
Chain 1, sc in the first two st, then sc inc in the third st. Repeat it 5 times then sl st to the first sc to join. (24st)
Round 5:
Chain 1, sc in the first three st, then sc inc in the fourth st. Repeat it 5 times then sl st to the first sc to join. (30st)
Round 6:
Chain 1, sc in the first four st, then sc inc in the fifth st. Repeat it 5 times then sl st to the first sc to join. (36st)
Round 7:
Chain 1, sc in the first five st, then sc inc in the sixth st. Repeat it 5 times then sl st to the first sc to join. (42st)
Round 8:
Chain 1, sc in the first six st, then sc inc in the seventh st. Repeat it 5 times then sl st to the first sc to join. (48st)
Round 9:
Chain 1, sc in the first seven st, then sc inc in the eighth st. Repeat it 5 times then sl st to the first sc to join. (54st)
Round 10:
Chain 1, sc in the first eight st, then sc inc in the ninth st. Repeat it 5 times then sl st to the first sc to join. (60st)
After joining, do not fasten off and continue to make a hanger.
Hanger:
ch 24, then sl st to the last st in round 10. Fasten off.
Face Embroidery:
Step 1:
Start with Nose on round 1 using Hot Pink Yarn.
Step 2:
Embroider two eyes on round 3-4 with 5 st gap.
Step 3:
Embroider two eye brows 2 st above the eyes with around 4-5 st gap.
Step 4:
Embroider the mouth 2 st under the nose for around 9 st.
Joining Piglet onto the Dishcloth:
Use Pink Yarn to sew Piglet onto the dishcloth. Remember to sew it on the surface stitch of the dishcloth. Do not go through the stitch up and down so that the pink yarn would not appear at the back of the dish cloth.
